Andy Raelert tests his form successfully at regional competitions

Andreas Raelert is looking forward to racing at the Thomas Cook Ironman 70.3 Mallorca on May 10th, which is the inaugural triathlon event of this season for the Raelert-Brothers. During Easter Andy took part in two regional competitions near his hometown Rostock in order to prepare for the Ironman 70.3 on the Balearic Islands. Andy successfully tested his shape: First, Andy competed at the 10 k Easter Run in Guestrow on Saturday, where he reached the finish line in 32:39 minutes after he had constantly paced himself. Andy took silver behind running specialist Paul Schmidt from Rostock. On Monday, Andy was among the participants of the Easter Duathlon in Godern – and he celebrated the victory thanks to a new course record. Andy was clocked with a total of 55:51 minutes after a 2.5 k run, a 22 k bike ride and a final 2.5 k run. "It was fun to stay at the starting line together with other athletes from the region," said Andy, "the result was not so much in the focus as the atmosphere." After weeks of training, Andy was able to tune himself a little bit for the events, which will follow soon for the Raelert-Brothers.
