Unique artworks to be auctioned for charity


Bids are welcome for two Raelert-Brothers-illustrations of Horst Brozy – Auction proceeds will go to 100 percent to the project Mike Möwenherz

Rostock. Andreas Raelert and Michael Raelert want to support the project Mike Möwenherz with the auction of two very special artworks. The Raelert-Brothers are very grateful that the artist Horst Brozy has provided two unique pieces of art for this purpose. Horst Brozy illustrated the Raelert-Brothers both in 2013, one artwork shows Michael Raelert winning last year’s Ironman 70.3 Berlin, the other one shows Andreas Raelert winning 2013’s Ironman Austria 2013. Both unique illustrations are colored pencil/water-color mix on paper, the size of each artwork is 100x70 centimeters. The auction will run from June 15 to June 30 in parallel on the website of the Raelert-Brothers, on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. The minimum bid for each of the unique items is 200 euros.


The goal of the project Mike Möwenherz is to form a team for specialized outpatient palliative care in the German state Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, so seriously ill children can be cared for in their normal environment at home. "For us it is an important wish to talk about the work of Mike Möwenherz and to do our little bit to this project," says Michael Raelert, who has dedicated his Ironman debut in the summer of 2012 in Regensburg to Mike Möwenherz. The proceeds of the art auction will be forwarded to 100 percent directly to the project Mike Möwenherz. "We hope that a large amount of money comes together," say the Raelert-Brothers. "It is an honor for us and we are very grateful that Horst Brozy created the Raelert-Brothers-illustrations – and that he donates these unique items for a good cause," say Michael and Andreas Raelert, "we hope that a generous donor will have a lot of pleasure with these artworks."


Horst Brozy has turned 50 years old a few days ago, he is regarded as an exceptional illustrator in sports. The German is a former cyclist, and he is blessed with a talent to show the passion and dedication which is required in endurance sports in his illustrations. The three-time world time trial champion Tony Martin is also one of his current illustrations as the two former world champions in road cycling, Philippe Gilbert and Cadel Evans, or the Tour de France heroes Mark Cavendish and Chris Froome. Among others Brozy also worked on illustrations of famous artists like Anne-Sophie Mutter and Cecilia Bartoli. The illustrations of the Raelert-Brothers are two unique items which mark both precision and emotion.


The auction starts on Sunday, June 15, and ends on Monday, June 30, 2014. Bids for each of the two unique artworks are binding and can only be made by e-mail to julia.boettner@raelert-brothers.com. The e-mail subject to participate in the auction is: "Art auction Raelert-Brothers". In the e-mail has to be mentioned the maximum bid for one of the artworks (1 for Andreas Raelert or 2 for Michael Raelert) and the exact contact information of the bidder. The highest bid which is made until June 30, 11:59 p.m., will win the auction. The Raelert-Brothers in brief  - The fastest brothers in the world of endurance Triathlon:

Andreas Raelert is the world’s fastest athlete on the Ironman distance. He holds the world record since July 10th 2011 - when Andreas won the Challenge Roth in 7:41:33 hours. He moved over to the Ironman distance in 2008 after a successful career in Olympic distance races. Andreas is a two-time Olympian: He reached 6th place at the Olympics in Athens 2004 and 12th place at the Olympics in Sydney 2000. Andreas won his debut over the Ironman distance at the Ironman Arizona in 2008. In 2009 he gave his debut at the legendary Hawaii Ironman and finished third. In 2010 he won the Ironman European Championship in Frankfurt and finished second at the Ironman World Championship in Hawaii. 2011 he won the Challenge Roth in world best time on the bike (4:11:43 hours) - and was again third in Hawaii. In 2012 he won the ETU-European Championships on the middle distance at Challenge Kraichgau and finished second at the Ironman Hawaii. In 2013 Andreas Raelert celebrated victories at the Ironman Austria and at the Ochsner Ironman 70.3 New Orleans. Andreas Raelert was born on August 11th 1976 in Rostock.

 

Michael Raelert is the world’s fastest athlete on the Ironman 70.3 distance. Since November 14th 2009 he holds the world record - when Michael won the Ironman 70.3 World Championship in Clearwater in 3:34:04 hours. The two-time German champion over the Olympic Distance (2005/2008) joined the Ironman 70.3 distance for the first time in 2009 and remained undefeated over this distance for more than a year. In 2010 Michael celebrated the double: winning the European and World Championship in Ironman 70.3. In 2012 he had a successful Ironman debut - being runner-up at Ironman Regensburg. He won the Ironman 70.3 European Championships 2012 in Wiesbaden. In 2013 he won Ironman 70.3 Berlin. Michael Raelert was born on August 29th 1980 in Rostock.

 

The Raelert-Brothers support the project Mike Möwenherz in their hometown Rostock. Mike Möwenherz takes care of seriously ill children and helps them to live with their families. In 2012 Michael Raelert has dedicated his Ironman debut in Regensburg to this project.
