Michael Raelert: With passion to Lake Chiemsee

Competition in a great landscape ahead this Sunday – One week after winning the Ironman 70.3 European Championship title it’s all about freshness

Chieming. Michael Raelert wants to achieve another good result one week after winning the title at the Ironman 70.3 European Championship Elsinore, Denmark. On Sunday, the Rostockian will be one of the favorites for the victory at the 6th edition of the EBERL Chiemsee-Triathlon. "My legs feel really good in training again," says Michael Raelert, "I hope that I have the necessary freshness to show a good performance this Sunday."

The Chiemsee-Triathlon offers a scenic race experience. The course of the middle-distance competition consisting of 2 kilometers of swimming, 80 kilometers of cycling and 21 kilometers of running leads all athletes to an extremely beautiful region. "It is a fantastic part of Germany," says Michael Raelert, "I really love to train here." Besides that, he also wants to show a strong race on the challenging course in Sunday's competition.

"The course of the Chiemsee-Triathlon is quite different from the race last week in Denmark”, says Michael Raelert who is really pleased to race in the South of Germany. “For example, it has a lot more climbs on the bike.” On Sunday, Austria’s Thomas Steger will be at the start line as well as the German professional athletes Jan Raphael and Markus Fachbach.
